Yasir Saifullah, MD, MBBS, BSHow easy it was to fall in love with caring for children! I moved to Elizabethtown in 2002 and have been working as a pediatrician providing well and sick care to infants and children of all ages. I am well-equipped to help families with a range of physical illness, but also enjoy opportunities to educate parents on age-related developmental and behavioral issues. I also have a personal interest in Asthma, Allergies, ADHD and promoting healthy lifestyles. I work with kids of all ages, and I am a big advocate of active disease prevention!

I consider it a privilege to be entrusted with the health care of children and I take that responsibility very seriously. Quality care must be based on the individual needs of the family and the child. Parents need practical office time to address their concerns and questions. Children must be approached in a loving manner, based on their age and developmental level, to decrease their anxiety and stress. I strive to keep up to date with the latest medical literature to ensure your child gets the best in health care.

I spend most of my free time with family. I am married with two wonderful children, Ali & Aleena. My wife, Beenash is currently in University of Louisville’s Dental Program. My Hobbies are spending time with my family and cars. I love watching your kids thrive and grow into successful, healthy adults!

Noorjahan Ali, M.D.

I earned by Bachelor’s degree in Biology from York University in Toronto, Canada; after which I earned my graduate medical school education from St. George’s University in Grenada, West Indies. My residency training in General Pediatrics was completed at Maimonides Medical Center (University Hospital and Brooklyn Campus of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University) in Brooklyn, New York. After residency, I had the distinguished privilege to serve as a Chief Resident in the Department of Pediatrics.

In Pediatrics my interests lie in Primary Care and Child Neurology: particularly in preventative care, headache syndromes, developmental delay, and spasticity management. I strongly believe in helping children achieve their highest potential by providing them and their families with all the available resources and care necessary to be the best they can be! It is also my passion to empower families to advocate for their children and be an active partner in the healthcare of their children.

Melanie Maerten, M.D.

I knew that I loved children before I knew that I wanted to become a doctor. Because of my desire to care for children, I left my home in Germany just after high school and moved to Texas to become a live-in-nanny for 2-year-old quadruplets. It was during those two years that I knew I wanted to pursue a pediatric medical profession. I completed medical school in Berlin, but during my last year, I was fortunate enough to be able to complete 4 months of rotations in Louisville, Kentucky through the UofL's Pediatrics Department at Kosair Children's Hospital. I enjoyed my time in Louisville so much that I moved back to Kentucky and completed my residency at Kosair this summer.

I am most passionate about ensuring that every child grows up the healthiest they can be. At the end of residency, all doctors are faced with deciding which direction to take. For me, the choices were pursuing a fellowship, inpatient medicine or general pediatrics. I found the thought of specializing in one field too constricting because I love every aspect of my profession. I am choosing to become an outpatient pediatrician. It will give me a little bit of everything while I get to build relationships with my patients and their families. It will be my joy and privilege to watch my patients grow up.

Kelly Hart, PA-C

Kelly studied biology at the University of Kentucky and graduated in 2008. She then completed her master’s degree in physician assistant studies at UK in 2012. Knowing that she wanted to work in pediatrics, Kelly chose to complete extra clinicals in this area of medicine to learn as much as she could, including traveling to a missionary hospital in Bomet, Kenya. Kelly has a deep passion for taking care of children and desires to build strong relationships with her patients and their families. She loves her role as a PA and how it allows her to work within a medical team to provide the best care to the kids.

Kelly was born and raised in Benton, Kentucky, just 30 minutes east of Paducah. She married Jason in June 2013 and lived in Carmel, Indiana, prior to coming to Elizabethtown. She is a die-hard UK fan despite her husband rooting for anyone but UK and she loves going to games in Rupp Arena. She also enjoys traveling, spending time with her two nephews as well as other family and friends, watching various sports with her husband and going to concerts. She is excited to be back in Kentucky doing what she loves the most, taking care of others.
